Nabrawind’s Nabralift tower achieves Type Certification together with Envision’s EN182-7.8 MW turbine

La torre Nabralift de Nabrawind logra el Certificado Tipo junto al aerogenerador EN182-7.8 MW de Envision

Nabrawind, a member of Enercluster, has reached a new milestone in the commercialisation of its tower technology: UL Solutions has issued the Type Certificate for Envision’s EN182-7.8 MW turbine with the Nabralift 3.MAX HH188 tower. The certificate, officially presented at WindEnergy Hamburg, marks an important step towards the commercial deployment of this configuration at a larger scale.

With a hub height of 188 metres, this configuration reaches the highest certified hub height to date in the onshore wind sector. Thanks to its 182-metre rotor and a rated power of 7.8 MW, it is particularly suited to low-wind sites. The certification places it on a par with a conventional turbine and provides an internationally reviewed technical basis for procurement, financing and insurance processes.

“This certificate consolidates our technology as a standard, mature solution,” said Eneko Sanz, CEO of Nabrawind, who highlighted the quality of the collaboration with Envision and the company’s readiness to deploy this configuration at scale.

The configuration is already being supplied for the Nullagine wind project (133 MW), under construction in Pilbara (Australia), for which Nabrawind and Envision have supplied 17 units. The project is being developed by Fortescue as part of its Real Zero strategy to decarbonise its mining activity.

Nabralift is a modular, self-erecting tower that makes it possible to install onshore turbines of more than 8 MW at hub heights above 200 metres. By accessing stronger winds and allowing assembly without large cranes, it reduces logistics and installation costs and lowers projects’ LCOE by between 5% and 10%.

With this milestone, Nabrawind reinforces the international reach of the wind technology developed in Navarra and the weight of the region’s renewable value chain.
