Ingeteam opens a unique laboratory in Sarriguren to drive electrification

Ingeteam inaugura en Sarriguren un laboratorio único para impulsar la electrificación

Ingeteam, a member of Enercluster, has opened its new power electronics and control laboratory in Sarriguren, a project in which it has invested 25 million euros.

Spanning 12,000 m², the facility serves the entire group and strengthens its research, development and innovation capacity in areas that are strategic for electrification.

The laboratory acts as a testing ground for Ingeteam’s products: it verifies, validates and certifies systems and technology for wind, photovoltaic and hydroelectric energy, battery storage, electric vehicle chargers and green hydrogen. Its equipment includes a semi-anechoic chamber and climate chambers capable of reproducing extreme conditions, as well as space to test large converters.

During the inauguration, Ingeteam’s president, Teresa Madariaga, described the new laboratory as a space for the development of ingenuity and emphasised the company’s roots in the territory. The CEO, Adolfo Rebollo, highlighted the pioneering nature of the facility at an international level.

The project has involved the addition of 200 people in Sarriguren, where Ingeteam now has 550 employees, joined by the 620 at its Sesma plant, reaching a workforce of 1,170 people in Navarra.

With this investment, Ingeteam reinforces the weight of Navarra’s technology industry and its contribution to the value chain of the energy transition.
