Our member company IED Electronics has received the 2026 The smarter E AWARD in the Photovoltaics category for TRUE WIND, a technology developed under its SUNNER brand for the intelligent control of solar trackers.
Presented during this year’s The smarter E Europe, the award recognises innovative solutions that contribute to advancing the energy transition while improving the performance, safety and efficiency of photovoltaic installations.
TRUE WIND introduces an individual adaptive stow system, enabling each solar tracker to respond independently to the actual wind conditions affecting its specific location. Unlike conventional systems, which apply the same strategy across an entire solar plant, this technology adapts the response of each tracker according to its operational context.
This approach enables faster responses to changing weather conditions, provides better asset protection, and maximises plant availability.
