Madrid, Spain, May 7, 2024 – Exus Renewables, an independent power producer and asset management company specializing in the renewable energy sector, has announced the acquisition of the Cascante Wind Farm (51 MW) located in Cascante, Navarra, from the Spanish company Grupo Enhol, whose core business is focused on the renewable energy sector. PwC and the law firm Garrigues have acted as sales advisors to Grupo Enhol, while the law firm Uría Menéndez has advised Exus.

This acquisition represents another notable addition to Exus’ growing portfolio of renewable energy assets in Europe. The Cascante E.P., currently in RtB (ready to build) status, is expected to reach Commercial Operation Date (COD) in the third quarter of 2025. Thanks to its strategic location and favorable wind conditions, this project is poised to make a significant contribution to the region’s renewable energy capacity.

The agreement represents the first step in Exus’ broader strategy to consolidate its presence in the region’s renewable energy sector. This approach recognizes the relevance of fostering long-lasting relationships with partners such as Enhol and local communities.

Grupo Enhol’s significant support for initiatives in Navarra exemplifies the link between renewable energy progress and local support. Exus is committed to maintaining a strong and responsible presence, actively contributing to the well-being and long-term sustainability of neighboring communities.

Exus was attracted to the immense potential of Grupo Enhol’s project, the P.E. Cascante, and is committed to maximizing its value through innovative and forward-thinking approaches. Significant advantages of the project include the potential for photovoltaic hybridization, battery storage and advanced energy management solutions, leveraging the extensive experience of the combined Exus team, and working collaboratively to optimize performance and drive sustainable growth.

Victor Lopez, head of M&A at Exus Renewables, said, “This acquisition marks another milestone in Exus’ transition to independent power producer, further consolidating our position as a leading player in the renewable energy sector. As we continue to expand our portfolio and seize new opportunities, Exus remains dedicated to delivering clean and reliable energy solutions that contribute to a more sustainable future.”
