Ingeteam, a member company of ENERCLUSTER, has signed a €75 million loan agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB) to strengthen its research, development and innovation (R&D&I) activities in advanced renewable energy and electrification technologies.
The financing, backed by the InvestEU programme, will enable the company to develop technological solutions that strengthen the entire electricity value chain, covering areas such as renewable energy grid integration, power electronics, energy storage systems, digitalisation, power grid cybersecurity and transport electrification.
The investments will be carried out at Ingeteam’s research and development centres in Navarra and the Basque Country, reinforcing the company’s commitment to technological innovation and the development of solutions that contribute to a more efficient, secure and sustainable energy system.
Among the planned projects is the development of new photovoltaic inverters aimed at reducing Europe’s dependence on external suppliers, improving cybersecurity, ensuring grid stability and strengthening Europe’s technological autonomy.
According to EIB President Nadia Calviño, this investment will help reinforce Europe’s energy autonomy by supporting renewable energy technologies developed in Europe. Meanwhile, Ingeteam Chairwoman Teresa Madariaga highlighted that the agreement will enable the company to continue developing advanced solutions that facilitate the integration of clean energy and contribute to building a more sustainable energy model.
From ENERCLUSTER, we welcome this operation as a recognition of Ingeteam’s technological and innovative capabilities, as well as the key role played by companies in the renewable energy ecosystem in developing strategic solutions for Europe’s energy transition.
