The Climate Group – Global Climate Change Network – offers numerous possibilities such as practical tools for monitoring and making comparative studies of climate actions and policies, as well as a series of initiatives working with multinationals and investors of great interest for ENERCLUSTER and its associates

El Climate Group (www.theclimategroup.org) is a non-profit organization that works internationally with businesses and governments to accelerate climate action. Its goal is to face the climate change through projects and campaigns of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and renewable energy, with the overall goal of urgently achieving a warming world of less than 2°C.

The region of Navarre signed the Letter of Intent in December 2015, at a ceremony held at the United States Embassy in Paris, attended by Mikel Irujo, Government Delegate in Brussels, and the Director of the Environment, Eva García.

Among the initiatives proposed to allow the participation of companies stand out:

•  RE100: is a global collaborative initiative of influential companies committed to using 100% renewable electricity. This will accelerate the transformation of the global energy market and help the transition to a low-carbon economy. RE100 brings together leading companies from around the world, covering a wide range of sectors, such as telecommunications, ICT, home furniture, clothing, food, banking and insurance, including Apple, Ikea, BMW, BT, La Caixa and many others.
• – EV100 is a global initiative that brings together forward-thinking companies committed to accelerating the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) and making a new norm from electric transport by 2030. The transport sector is the fastest growing contributor to climate change and accounts for 23% of energy-related greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Electric transport offers an important solution for reducing millions of tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year, as well as for reducing air pollution and transport-related noise.

In the coming months, ENERCLUSTER will disseminate Climate Group initiatives among its partners to encourage companies to align themselves with the principles of the network.
