Ríos Renovables, a member of Enercluster, has strengthened its strategic alliance with Barter Energy to accelerate the development of collective self-consumption projects in Spain. Under this collaboration, Barter has chosen Ríos Renovables as one of its main partners for the development, engineering and construction of new photovoltaic installations.
The agreement will further extend the Barrio Solar de Visalia (Visalia Solar Neighbourhood) model, based on local, proximity-based renewable generation. Under this model, homes and businesses located near a photovoltaic installation can benefit from locally produced energy without installing panels on their own roofs or taking on the initial investment.
Ríos Renovables brings to the alliance more than three decades of experience in the sector and the technical capacity of its engineering, development and construction teams. Barter, for its part, will continue to drive the acquisition and management of the collective self-consumption projects linked to this model. The agreement was signed by Lidia Ríos, Corporate Director of Ríos Renovables, and Paolo D’Innocenti, General Manager of Barter.
The two companies are working to develop a portfolio of projects during 2027 that will mobilise an investment of more than 20 million euros, with new photovoltaic installations located mainly in northern Spain. The shared goal: to bring renewable energy to more homes and businesses through an accessible, competitive model that requires no upfront investment.
Based in Fustiñana, Ríos Renovables thus reinforces the role of Navarra’s renewable industry in advancing collective self-consumption and distributed generation — one of the areas that Enercluster places at the heart of the energy transition.
