Last 12th December KoalaLifter, an innovative company from Navarre in climbing cranes for the wind energy sector, was a special guest at the fourth edition of the European Conference EnerGreenDeal, which took place in Brussels.
The conference focused on how to combat climate change and the reduction of CO2 emissions through talks and presentations by high-level European leaders and company directors and managers.
KoalaLifter was represented at the Congress by Emmanuel García de la Peña, CEO of the company. In addition to participating in different round tables, he was one of the members of the session ‘Energy Systems’, where, together with other guests, he discussed the topic: ‘How can clean technologies, digital solutions and data drive the energy transition’? KoalaLifter, as an innovative climbing crane technology for the wind energy sector, and supported by the European Commission through the EIC Accelerator programme, has enormous advantages for mitigating climate change. The main one is that maintenance operations are much more efficient and corrective changeover times are reduced to 3 days, resulting in less wind turbine downtime. And, therefore, in a lower production of energy from fossil fuels. It is estimated that a reduction of up to 270 tons of CO2 emissions in maintenance operations can be achieved thanks to this technology. And in the case of wind turbine construction, it is estimated that emissions can be reduced by up to 66 tonnes per wind turbine.
