ENERCLUSTER, together with CaixaBank Dualiza, the Government of Navarra, and CENIFER, look to Vocational Training to develop talent in renewable energies

Encuentro entre ENERCLUSTER, CaixaBank Dualiza, el Gobierno de Navarra y CENIFER

The Managing Director of ENERCLUSTER, Iker Chasco, participated in a key meeting on the need for training in the renewable energy sector, alongside CaixaBank Dualiza, the Government of Navarra, and CENIFER.

During the event, which gathered nearly 70 attendees, Chasco emphasized that “the renewable energy sector in Navarra is one of the great strengths of our economy, and ensuring and retaining talent is key to maintaining its leadership and competitiveness in the future.”

The renewable energy sector in Navarra employs nearly 11,000 people and accounts for 8.5% of the region’s GDP. Moreover, more than half of the energy generated in Navarra already comes from renewable sources, with wind energy leading the way. However, the lack of qualified professionals threatens its growth and competitiveness in the medium term.

Among the most in-demand profiles in a sector with 100% employability are electrical technicians, photovoltaic installers, climate control and aerothermal experts, assemblers, and energy efficiency managers, among others.

Companies have expressed their commitment to Vocational Training but pointed out that the lack of awareness about the training model is an obstacle to its implementation. Additionally, they highlighted the need to adapt Occupational Risk Prevention training to the sector’s demands.

Cristina Rodríguez, Coordinator of CaixaBank Dualiza in Navarra, stressed “the importance of anticipating the future needs of companies in talent training and bringing Vocational Training closer to strategic sectors such as renewable energies.”

With initiatives like this, ENERCLUSTER strengthens its commitment to talent development and the reinforcement of a key sector for Navarra’s economy and sustainability.
