Ana Goyen participates in the conference “Present and future of energy in Navarra”.

Navarra has been promoting the renewable energy sector for more than thirty years and has been a pioneer at national and international level. In an effort to reinforce this position, the conference “Present and future of energy in Navarra” was held on April 23rd. At the event, experts and professionals in the field discussed the challenges and opportunities facing the region on its path towards decarbonization.

Ana Goyen, president of Enercluster, highlighted the importance of electrifying energy consumption and boosting storage; she underlined the importance of the renewables sector, which accounts for 8.5% of Navarre’s GDP and generates 10,700 jobs with more than 100 companies; and she drew attention to the fact that in a market where demand is growing, almost all the large companies that are operating (Siemens-Gamesa, Nordex, Vestas…) are losing money.

Finally, among other issues, he stated that betting on renewable energies is betting on the quality of life of the region, since it attracts investments, creates quality jobs, generates tax revenues, etc.
