Our member company EDP Renovables has obtained environmental approval to expand the Tudela I and Tudela II photovoltaic plants, located in the Ribera region of Navarra. The project will increase the generation capacity of both facilities through the installation of more than 51,000 additional solar modules.
The expansions will be carried out in the municipalities of Ablitas, Ribaforada and Fontellas, covering an additional 31.8 hectares. Specifically, the expansion of Tudela I will include 13,427 photovoltaic modules across 7.5 hectares, while Tudela II will add 37,671 modules over an area of 24.3 hectares.
These new installations will be integrated with the existing solar plants, which were authorised in 2023 and each comprise 92,500 solar modules. The electricity generated will be evacuated through the existing grid infrastructure, optimising the use of the electrical network already associated with the projects.
The expansion further strengthens EDP Renovables’ presence in Navarra, where the company also operates the Cierzo II solar plant in Corella and Cierzo IV in Castejón, both inaugurated in 2025 with a combined installed capacity of nearly 90 MW.
At ENERCLUSTER, we welcome this new investment as an example of the continued development of renewable energy projects in Navarra and of the commitment to increasing clean energy generation through the optimisation and expansion of existing infrastructure.
