Diario de Navarra has conducted an interview with Aitor Erquicia, new president of ENERCLUSTER, in which the challenges and objectives of the cluster in this new stage are analysed.
Among other issues, Erquicia highlights the importance of strengthening the supply chain of the renewable sector, a fundamental pillar for the competitiveness of the industry in Navarra. He also stresses the need to foster collaboration between companies and explore new development opportunities at a key moment for the energy transition.
He also alludes to the slow pace of support measures in the European Union and is concerned about the instability that Donald Trump’s administration and the possible trade war with China could generate. In this regard, the new president highlights the role of the cluster as an interlocutor between the industry and the institutions, defending a framework that guarantees the stability and growth of the sector.
Finally, he addresses the resistance that rural areas often show to large wind and photovoltaic farms and stresses the importance of finding solutions that benefit all parties.
