Our member company EnergyLOOP, promoted by Iberdrola (through its PERSEO programme) and FCC Ámbito, has been recognised by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) as a Flagship Project within Spain’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).
The recognition highlights the wind turbine blade recycling plant located in Cortes (Navarra), the first of its kind in the Iberian Peninsula. This facility represents a decisive step in addressing one of the renewable sector’s greatest challenges: the management and recovery of components reaching the end of their life cycle.
The award was presented to Federico Sanmartín, Managing Director of EnergyLOOP, by Minister Sara Aagesen Muñoz, Spain’s Third Vice-President, during an event held at the Official College of Architects of Madrid.
This project will contribute to enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of the sector through the implementation of new technologies that promote circular economy solutions and provide effective responses to the growing volume of waste expected in the coming years.
