ENERCLUSTER holds a new edition of its annual networking cocktail event

ENERCLUSTER has held a new edition of its annual networking cocktail event, bringing together member companies, institutions and professionals from Navarra’s renewable energy sector to foster connections, encourage knowledge sharing and create new opportunities for collaboration.

The event, held at the Castillo de Gorraiz Palace, was opened by Mikel Irujo, Regional Minister for Industry and for Ecological and Digital Business Transition of the Government of Navarra. The gathering was also attended by Iñigo Arruti, Director General for Business Development and Infrastructure, and Laura Larraya, Director of the Industrial Planning, Energy Infrastructure and Mining Service, reflecting the close collaboration between public institutions and Navarra’s renewable energy industry.

During his speech, Mikel Irujo highlighted the importance of public-private collaboration in strengthening the industrial value chain linked to renewable energy. He also stressed the need to support Made in Europe and Made in Navarra, and recalled Navarra’s pioneering role in the development of renewable energy, which has positioned the region as a benchmark both nationally and across Europe.

The first technical presentation was delivered by José María González Moya, General Director of APPA Renovables, who analysed the current situation of the Spanish electricity market and the challenges facing the sector. Among other topics, he addressed the impact of low electricity prices, the growing number of hours with zero or negative prices, existing limitations to integrating all available renewable generation, and the need to advance solutions such as energy storage, demand electrification and greater system flexibility.

Edurne Zoco, Head of Clean Technologies and Supply Chains at S&P Global Energy, provided an international perspective on the role of renewable energy in the current geopolitical context. During her presentation, she argued that greater deployment of renewables and storage not only contributes to decarbonisation but also strengthens energy security and reduces dependence on imported fuels. She also analysed how different regions of the world are approaching the energy transition from diverse perspectives shaped by their resources, energy needs and industrial strategies.

The event also featured the presentation of the campaign RENEWABLES YES | The Most Positive Energy, launched by ENERCLUSTER to highlight the value created by the renewable energy sector and promote a conversation based on data, knowledge and real-life experiences. The campaign was presented by its director, Kiko Maza, who encouraged member companies to join the initiative and help amplify its message.

Following the presentations, attendees took part in the networking cocktail session, one of the central moments of the event, where companies exchanged ideas, shared experiences and explored potential areas for collaboration. The gathering also included the 2nd ENERCLUSTER Kahoot Championship, featuring questions about the cluster and the renewable energy sector, as well as a participatory activity in which attendees shared what ENERCLUSTER represents for them.

Among the concepts proposed (representing and defending the renewable energy sector, generating business opportunities, promoting Navarra’s renewable ecosystem nationally and internationally, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing networks, and serving as a meeting point for the sector) the latter received the highest number of votes from participants.

With this event, ENERCLUSTER further strengthens its role as a meeting point for Navarra’s renewable energy sector, promoting collaboration, shared knowledge and connections between the organisations that form part of its value chain.
