Sakana Group, one of Navarra’s leading industrial cooperatives, has marked its 50th anniversary with the premiere of the documentary “Voices of Sakana: Forging Dreams in Iron”, a heartfelt tribute to its history, core values, and the people who have shaped the project from the very beginning.

The screening took place at the Lakuntza Cultural Center, where over 120 attendees —including local residents, employees, and founding members— revisited the journey of this benchmark cooperative, known for producing large cast parts for sectors such as wind energy, marine, and railway industries.

Conceived as a living memory, the documentary features testimonies from founders and workers across different generations, blending interviews with archival footage. Through a chronological narrative, it portrays how a group of local residents, with no initial facilities or capital, launched a cooperative project in 1975 that today employs over 250 people and has an international presence.

During the event, General Manager Jaime Urcola emphasized that the production is not just a historical recount, but also an educational and intergenerational tool designed to preserve and share the cooperative model’s values. “Great achievements are born from collective effort, collaboration, and long-term vision,” he noted.

The premiere is part of a broader commemorative program that will include open house events, family gatherings, educational activities, and an official institutional event later this year. The aim is to honor the people behind the project and continue promoting the cooperative model among new generations.

Since its inception, Sakana Group has successfully adapted to technical, economic, and social challenges, while maintaining a strong local presence and a deep commitment to social transformation. Today, it stands as a symbol of industrial innovation and cooperation in both Navarra and across Europe.
