Grupo Enhol presents its first garment made with recycled cotton to save natural resources with the support of Ecoalf

Tudela, 16 February 2024. Enhol Group, a company from Navarre with more than 90 years of history in various sectors, launches its first garment made with recycled cotton as a corporate item for the people in its teams who want to have them in collaboration with Ecoalf, a pioneering fashion and sustainable lifestyle brand. “We have been wearing their clothes for years because we like them, we share their vision and both companies have sustainability at their core. It was the perfect collaboration,” say Diego and Gonzalo Oliver, joint managing directors of Grupo Enhol.

Both companies share non-conformism, innovation and sustainability in their processes. The collection with Ecoalf has saved a total of 60,450 litres of water, which is 86% per unit compared to the industry standard, and 4,338 kg of CO2, which is a 54% saving per unit compared to the industry standard. The garment is made from recycled cotton, through which they have achieved significant savings in water consumption, as well as giving a second life to textile waste. One of the serious environmental impacts of the textile sector comes from cotton, due to excessive water consumption during cultivation and production. More than half of the cotton fields are artificially irrigated and up to 90% of the water used is potable.

COMMITTED

The company from Tudela has promoted and participated in other initiatives that, in an altruistic way, such as Ecoalf, seek to care for the environment.

This idea stems from the internal project #CompensaEnhol through which the Navarrese company proposes a comprehensive approach to real cases of our environment with room for improvement through three lines of action: knowledge and awareness that lead us to action. The aim of this alliance is to raise awareness and unite their teams and families to invest in garments with a long-term life free of waste and which we will be able to enjoy for longer. In addition, corporate garments help create a positive impact in the workplace and strong bonds, which translate into a sense of belonging and brand empowerment.

This project has a dual purpose: environmental and social. The cost of the production of these sweatshirts is fully covered by Enhol and is made available to its teams at a reduced price. The garments will only be on sale to Enhol Group employees and the proceeds will be divided into two parts; 25% will go to the Ecoalf Foundation and the remaining 75% to local entities in the Ribera de Navarra region chosen by Enhol Group employees. The Ecoalf Foundation was born in 2015 and through the project “Upcycling the Oceans” the aim is to clean the oceans of marine litter with the help of the fishing sector, to give plastic waste a new life thanks to recycling and the circular economy. What started with three fishermen is now a project that unites more than 4,200 fishermen in more than 71 ports around the Mediterranean, who have already collected more than 1,450 tonnes.

Grupo Enhol is committed to reducing its environmental impact. The alliances between the companies that form part of the industry must work hand in hand to advance towards a model that allows the production of our activity, whatever it may be, in a sustainable way.

For the Navarrese company Enhol, working with Ecoalf to launch its first sustainable corporate garment means combining design and innovation with a commitment to the environment; both a challenge and a source of satisfaction.

INNOVATION

Innovation and circular economy have always been part of Grupo Enhol’s identity. The Navarrese company promotes initiatives of all shapes and sizes; from collecting plastic caps collected at its own facilities for the manufacture of street furniture to the search for industrial solutions for the dismantling, reconditioning, reuse, recovery and recycling of wind farms through Renercycle. And innovation, say the Navarrese, must also be sustainable. That is why they are committed to maintaining respectful production processes that guarantee a sustainable result. “If we do not operate in a sustainable, long-term and meaningful way, our product or service will never be sustainable”, say Grupo Enhol.
